Appointment Guidelines
In order to ensure quality orthodontic care, it is imperative that our parents and patients understand the manner in which we schedule our appointments. We value your time and make every effort to stay on schedule. Your scheduled appointment time has been reserved specifically for you. We request 24-hours notice if you need to cancel your appointment. We are aware that unforeseen events sometimes require missing an appointment, and appreciate your cooperation.
Drs. Farrow and Krob will be seeing you at various time intervals throughout treatment. Early in treatment our high-tech wires allow us to schedule appointments at 10-12 week intervals. As we work through the initial stages of tooth alignment we will progress to 6-8 week intervals. When treatment enters the final months of treatment it may be necessary to have appointments as often as every 3-4 weeks. Keeping an appointment in this recommended time period helps keep your treatment on schedule. Increasing the length of time between appointments prolongs total treatment time.
A large number of our patients are of school age. Please plan on some appointments being scheduled during work and school hours. Appointments are scheduled based on the procedure necessary. The frequency and length of appointments varies depending on the particular treatment needed that day.
Long Appointments
We realize that after school and work is a more convenient time for most patients, however, longer appointments and repair appointments are scheduled during school or work hours, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. We have arranged our schedule this way so that we may accommodate many of your short appointments after school.
Short Appointments
Shorter appointments, such as visits for wire activation or retainer check, can usually be scheduled early in the morning, after (starting at 2 p.m.) or during school hours.
Late Arrivals
We ask that you arrive on time or before for your appointment. Our day and subsequent appointments depend on all of us being punctual. Late arrivals may need to be rescheduled if the day’s appointments do not permit otherwise.
Rescheduling Appointments
All failed appointments must be rescheduled as soon as the office schedule allows. We are always moving teeth as efficiently as possible, and these force systems need to be monitored regularly. Since our "after school" appointments are usually booked six to eight weeks in advance, it will probably be necessary to reschedule the missed appointments during school or work hours.
